Your new tattoo has been done by a trained professional under the cleanest possible conditions. It is now up to you to keep it clean to prevent infection. Just follow a few simple steps:

  1. Keep your bandage on at least 2-4 hours.
  2. Wash your hands and then:
    1. Remove your bandage
    2. Wash your tattoo with soapy water
    3. Pat it dry with a towel
  3. With your clean hands:
    1. Apply a thin coat of lotion (Lubriderm, Curel, Etc.)
    2. Wipe off any extra lotion
    3. Note: Avoid petroleum based products (Do not use Neosporin, A&D Ointment, Etc.)
  4. With your clean hands:
    1. Wash & apply lotion twice a day.
    2. Note: The scabs will begin to flake off your tattoo in several days.
    3. Do not pick, bump, scrape, or rub your scabs.
  5. Keep your tattoo out of sun and do not soak tattoo in water.
  6. Tattoos should heal in about ten days but may take longer depending on the individual.
